- According to him, immediately after a month’s training in Estonia, he found himself at the front. It was difficult in the combat zone. Provisioning left much to be desired: dry rations were not of the best quality, uniforms fell apart after two washes and could simply be thrown away. But what surprised him most of all was the absence of commanders at the positions.
