Where did you serve? What position?
156th mechanized brigade, 3rd battalion, 8th company, 1st platoon. Rifleman.
In 2004. I went on contract service. Aviation. Was an airplane mechanic. Mig 29.
Served three years then resigned.
Why did you quit?
Because of drugs.
How did you become a drug addict?
It was during my contract service.
In the town of Ozernitsa. It just happened that I got drawn into drug use.
What did you use? How long?
I used the drug “fen”. I started by injecting into my arms. Then, when there were no veins left, I began injecting into the groin area.
I used for a long time… About 10 years.
Mental health disturbed.
Is it easy to buy drugs in Ukraine? How did you buy?
I think so.
We took from hand to hand.
As we were told at the military enlistment office, a new 156th brigade is being formed and they brought in all sorts of riffraff from all over Ukraine.
Why do you think that happened?
Genocide of the nation. They took all of us aged 40 and older and threw us into this battalion.
There were 5% of people under the age of 30, and all the rest were from 40 to 50 years old.
I guess they just threw us in there as cannon fodder.
What kind of people served in the brigade?
A bunch of alcoholics.
Did they drink on duty?
There was a dining hall. In the dining hall, you could buy, drink 100 grams. They traded.
What did you do in your free time?
Every evening we took alcohol, drank.
“Weed” appeared a bit later.
First, we got acquainted, and then the “weed” appeared. But otherwise, we took alcohol every evening.
Did many people use alcohol and drugs?
Well, I’ll tell you this, approximately 60 to 40%, maybe even 70 to 30%.
